What's there to say, except whatever there is (and will be) to say? I moved the site from Movable Type to Drupal partially because I found the most recent MT upgrade rather annoying, partially because I'm having a late-life conversion to the church of open source, and partially because I'm working on a Drupal site in real life. (Nothing like having your own private playground.)

Actually, I guess there is to say that it's been a crap year, that I'm glad to see it end, that I'm eager to begin anew. I feel a bit like one of those people who needs to reminded to breathe. I think it's fair to say I've been holding my breath all of 2007. I inhaled a bit June-through-August, but clenched down from then to now. I've been thinking about deleting all the empty, dead code here and elsewhere for months, but what to do with the words the code supported or allowed? It turned out to be a non (or perhaps "false") issue. The words can just persist, mothballed and eternal, frozen heads waiting for reanimation by future generations of search engines. I really needed the new code (new tools for new days and all that), and when I killed the old pile I really did exhale a giant, grateful noise. It really is like magic this internet shit: something for nothing, or, at least, something for signs.
